One of such organization Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, has launched the first of its kind Automotive Refinish Training Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to provide expert training in the use of Axalta products used for repainting of vehicles, in order to prepare the local technicians and help them adapt evolved techniques for the enhancement of the refinishing job and to optimize the use of Axalta Products in this region.
This next generation facility in Jabel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) emanate after the October 2016 Axalta’s regional office opening, is Axalta’s 47th such centre worldwide and will cater world class training programs for body shop, repair and refinish technicians and will polish their skills to use the latest coating technologies found in Spies Hecker®,Standox® and Cromax®.
Axalta Coating System is the major supplier of coatings to light weight original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and its premium refinish coating brands are already present across 18 countries in the Middle East & North Africa. “We are excited to be able to expand our presence in Dubai and the region over such a short time span,” said Charles W. Shaver – Chairman and CEO, Axalta, who inaugurated the facility. He highlighted the commitment of Axalta to invest in this region and to support their customers, and also explained how Axalta being the supplier to OEM’s can educate its customer with the most updated technologies used across the automotive industry.
Axalta has also put its emphasis on the use of waterborne solutions, with experience of more than 150 years, it has spent millions of dollars on Technology and Research to develop sustainable waterborne refinish coating systems which are environment-friendly along with being more productive and profitable. “Decisions related to automotive repair are following global trends in favour of environmentally responsible products,” said Fadi Medlej – Managing Director (MENA), Axalta.
During the launch Axalta displayed their facility explaining all the touch points needed, conducted few demonstration activities where media and guests participated and actually spray painted a miniature car, to let them feel the ease of using Axalta waterborne products. They demonstrated the another process with solvent borne and waterborne coatings been used side by side proving efficiency and effectiveness of their waterborne products over solvent borne, waterborne coatings proved to be around 55% efficient in consumption in comparison to solvent borne coatings with actual weighing and measurements involved.
Axalta designs its learning and development training modules to uplift the performance of their customers by inducing skills and knowledge, helping them to eliminate waste, minimize cost and to keep the time cycle of process minimum as possible. Company promotes the use of its waterborne product among all refinishers across the region to make their facilities eco-friendly and to save the work force from health hazards caused by solvent borne coatings. Many key players in this region and some of the major workshops currently utilise Axalta products, and soon will be benefited from this training facility and can provide their customers that high-end finish for which customers really look for using efficient and environment-friendly products, and hopefully Axalta will bring more customers to their remarkable list of 100,000+ customers.
