The 600PS XE SV Project 8 sedan with speed upto 322 Km/h has been revealed by Jaguar, it is the most powerful, agile and extreme performance Jaguar road car ever. Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has put in a lot of work behind the car and the result is a powerful beauty.

Only 300 models will ever be created, all of them to be assembled at SVO’s Technical Centre in Coventry. Following the successful F-TYPE Project 7, of 2014, this is the second Collector’s Edition by SVO, Project 8. The car is designed to thrill driving enthusiasts as it is a hand-built four-door sedan with supercar performance, with an extraordinary combination of explosive power, dynamic agility, and all-wheel-drive traction.



A huge amount of efforts have been put by SVO as it is Jaguar’s most track-focused car ever produced, fundamentals based on performance, the car features many purposeful detailed changes to the well-acclaimed XE’s lightweight aluminium body panels. Many more features are available including vented Carbon Fibre Bonnet, flared bodywork covering 20-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels, Enhanced Cooling Ducts with Carbon Fibre Bumper, Adjustable Front Splitter, Rear Carbon Fibre Bumper, Rear Diffuser and a Rear Aerodynamic Wing that can be adjusted. Project 8 is pretty lightweight and is going to be the lightest V8 sedan in the Jaguar range.

The high-performance theme continues inside, with subtle applications of Gloss Carbon Fibre trim as well as Alcantara, on the rim of the Project 8 Sport Steering Wheel, instrument binnacle and door cards. The eight-speed Quickshift transmission can either be operated by aluminium paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or by a central Pistol Shift lever – another first for XE.

With an exclusive Track Mode, it is the first Jaguar that has adapting driveline and stability control systems for circuit use and sharpens both throttle and steering responses for ultimate precision and driver feedback.

Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain has been exclusively featured in the Project 8. Complemented by Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and motorsport-derived aerodynamics to deliver a 322 kmph top speed and 0-100kmph in 3.7sec, the 600PS power unit, which has a Titanium Variable Active Exhaust, making Project 8 the fastest accelerating Jaguar yet.


Technical Details

The team of Jaguar to create a never-before car has introduced many new and industry - first features such as the usage of Formula 1-style silicon nitride ceramic wheel bearings on a road car known as the Carbon Ceramic Braking system, along with incorporating a rear Electronic Active Differential (EAD) with oil cooler, a first for XE. The car comes with Integral Link rear suspension that has strong springs and manually adjustable Continuously Variable Dampers (giving a 15mm lower ride height for track use) and double-wishbone front to ensure ideal track performance.



Model Choices

Two available specifications of Project 8 will be launched. The standard model will have new front performance seats with Jaguar special magnesium frames on them along with a heavily contoured rear squab to increase the support. Apart from this there is the exclusive but optional is the  two-seat T-rack Pack that has lightweight front Carbon Fibre Racing Seats. The exclusivity is that instead of four-Point Harnesses are fixed to a Harness Retention Hoop. All Project 8 will be built in left-hand drive configuration only.


Customisation Possibilities

The amazingly dynamic car is provided in 8 color options among which three are standard colours - Fuji White, Narvik Black and Caldera Red, and further five enhanced SVO Design and finishes exclusively from the SVO Premium Palette: Valencia Orange, Velocity Blue, Meribel White, Verbier Silver and Corris Grey (satin matte).

Further, SVO Premium Palette range offers 19 colours in tri-coat, tinted clear coat, pearlescent, ChromaFlairTM and satin matte finishes are also available for Project 8 owners who will be able to customise their car. Also, Race-inspired decal packs, highlighting Project 8’s high-performance attributes, are available.

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will be presented to the world for the first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK, which runs from 29 June – 2 July. Project 8 will make its dynamic world debut on the famous Goodwood Hill on Friday 30 June.
