BMW X3 was launched in 2003 in a Compact luxury crossover SUV or as BMW likes to market it as a SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). Now, the model is back with its striking design, powerful and efficient drive systems, the BMW X3 exudes luxury. Now the third-generation model is here to entice the BMW X3 fans, carrying over a goodwill of past two generation models that were a huge sell-out by rolling off 1.5 million models off the assembly line.

From the launch of the new model, the engine line-up will feature three petrol and two diesel engine variants that will provide the outputs from 135 kW/184 hp to 265 kW/360 hp. All models come with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission as standard. Elevating the sporty handling to another new level is the carefully honed chassis, including reduced unsprung mass and sophisticated axle kinematics. Weight reduced by up to 55 kilograms from the predecessor model thanks to intelligent lightweight construction; class-leading aerodynamics (Cd = 0.29).
Using the optional BMW Display Key owners can operate functions including the optional auxiliary heating. BMW Co-Pilot providing options such as the latest generation of Active Cruise Control and the Driving Assistant Plus safety package including Steering and lane control assistant, Lane Change Assistant (est. from December 2017) and Lane-keeping assistance with side collision protection provide extensive scope for (semi-)automated driving.

Storage has been improved greatly by increasing standard boot capacity of 550 ltr., which can be extended to 1,600 ltr. Underfloor compartment for additional stowage including a compartment for luggage compartment cover. 40:20:40 split rear backrests can be folded down from the boot by pressing the button, also adaptive fastening systems are another bonus. The first M Performance Automobile - BMW X3 M40i - in this model series is also being introduced as a range-topping.
