Being one of the most competitive segment in this automotive market, we have compared these major players in mid-size segment sedans on few set parameters for you to understand it more clearly.
In this particular segment Honda Accord and Nissan Altima seems the most sharp out of all and Kia Optima takes a keen eye to not to get confused with its previous generation but still have all the necessary elements. Although 2018 Hyundai Sonata has been launched in US market already but we are comparing the available option for the Middle East which is outgoing model in comparison to other options.
Honda Accord gains here few points for its intelligent cabin layout with low noise cabin and large rear leg room giving it a bit expensive feel, not much behind, Toyota Camry has one edgy and sporty cabin layout which really stands out in this segment. Other players are not that visually attractive but have a quite sensible layout for sure.
On Performance Scale Honda Accord seems quite ahead in numbers with its 2.4L i-VTEC engine exhilarating 189HP and 25.18Kg-m of Torque but its 2.4L option only comes in CVT. Toyota Camry, Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata have almost same output in terms of power and torque with 6 Speed Transmission but Toyota easily outperforms these two with its smooth transmission and handling, Nissan Altima also scores 182HP with its 2.5L engine and can really performs well with its Xtronic CVT transmission.
SPACE & COMFORT
Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata have the longest wheelbase, biggest boot spaces and the shortest turning radius of just 5.45mtr making it spacious in this segment, Kia also have improved its comfort quotient in all these years with quality material and low noise cabin. Honda Accord have a quite decent rear leg room and better Boot capacity then its main competitors Altima and Camry. Toyota Camry with its spunky and edgy interiors offers good space and comfort along its best in class ground clearance.
SAFETY & CONVENIENCE
In terms of technological features Honda clearly outplays all with premium features like memory seats, remote engine starter and of course Honda LaneWatch™, unique in every sense. Toyota Camry is the only one in this group without Navigation, Blind spot monitoring and remote engine starter on any grade as a standard set. Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata is the only one out of this bunch with a Panoramic Sunroof, when it comes to safety all 5 players score a 5star rating with all basic safety features available like parking sensors and rear view camera.

Honda and Kia both offers a warranty of 5 Years with Honda giving an uncapped mileage cover for all these years to its customers and Kia provides 150K mileage cover only. Both Toyota and Nissan provides a warranty for 3years / 100K Kms, and lastly Hyundai offers 4years unlimited kilometres warranty for its customers.
Nissan Altima in this group is coming out to be the most fuel efficient car with 17.7Km/l mileage and Hyundai Sonata the least fuel efficient car with just 13.2Km/l mileage.
VERDICTKeeping details in mind like Cost, Maintenance and Resale value, Toyota Camry turns to be our first choice. If you need performance and technology in your car with a premium feel, Accord is the call for you, and if you need a practical comfortable car with great fuel efficiency its Altima for you. If you are more cost concerned and need a ride loaded with features you can go with these Korean players Kia and Hyundai.
