Ford launches “Triple Power” ahead of Dubai Motor Show

Announced launch of New-Gen 2018 Expedition, New Mustang and New F-150.

Ford Middle East revealed three of its legendary models ahead of 2017 Dubai International Motorshow, with the new-generation 2018 Ford Expedition, as well as the new 2018 Ford Mustang and new 2018 F-150 making their regional debut. This launch reinforced Ford’s commitment to introduce 30 products by 2020 in MEA region. Held under the theme #FordMovesME which is expected to move consumers well into the next era of mobility.

The new generation 2018 Ford Expedition redefine the full-sized SUV segment with wholesale changes that are significant. This all new model gets new exterior and interior, unique smart technologies, more power and higher towing capability than any other full-sized SUV. The new generation 2018 Ford Expedition is the smartest, most capable and most adaptable Expedition than the SUV it replaces.

Powered by a second-generation 3.5-litre EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6 engine with standard Auto Start-Stop plus a class exclusive new 10-speed automatic transmission, the new-generation Expedition is the most powerful Expedition ever, offering up to 400 horsepower on Platinum models along with a whopping 610Nm of torque.

Ford moved from the traditional shift lever to a rotary gear selector. The new-generation Expedition’s Terrain Management System has up to 7 drive modes including a Sand Mode, paired with a two-speed transfer case with low gear range and a rear electronic limited-slip differential that allows a full differential lock, offering excellent off-road capability.

For customers wanting to carry more cargo or tow loads, the new generation Expedition offers Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob. The all-new Expedition offers a class-leading towing capacity of up to 4,200kg.

More than 40 features and driver-assist technologies new to Expedition help make the journey as enjoyable as the destination. These include class-exclusive enhanced active park assist to easily pull in and out of parking spots, as well as available 360-degree camera technology to help customers see more around their Expedition for easier parking.

In addition, Expedition offers - Wireless charging, Dual-headrest rear seat entertainment system, SYNC® 3 with both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ capability, B&O PLAY with 12-speakers, Advanced cargo manager with an adjustable shelf behind the third row lets owners create a storage space customised to whatever they’re hauling, Panoramic Vista Roof spans two rows, a feature not offered by any competitor

We haven’t driven the 2018 Expedition yet but we expect it to be quicker and more capable than outgoing model. Lighter weight despite being bigger than outgoing might also make the new Expedition more efficient.

With a sleeker design, more advanced technology and even more muscle, the 2018 Mustang – the most advanced Mustang ever – promises to wow car lovers at this year’s Dubai International Motor Show.

Overall, the car’s exterior design is now more athletic, with a lower, remodeled hood and grille that deliver a leaner look and refined aerodynamics, upper and lower front grilles, and a new position for hood vents. For the first time the entire Mustang line will feature all-LED front lights including signature lighting, low-beams, turn signals, efficient projector high-beams and available fog lamps. The overall look is less retro but still inherently Mustang.

A host of improvements including new technology and design changes give owners ways to customise Mustang to their preferences even better performance from more powerful engines, delivering 460 horsepower on the GT (570 Nm torque), and 310 horsepower on the EcoBoost® turbo  engine (475 Nm torque). Compared to the previous six-speed, the new 10-speed transmission has quicker shift times, better low-speed tip-in response and significantly reduced friction losses. Steering wheel-mounted shift paddles allow drivers maximum manual control.

Mustang makes available Ford’s first 12-inch all-digital LCD screen in the dashboard – fresh from the Ford GT. Customers can personalise the displays for normal, sport and track mode. All-new Mustang MyMode with memory function allows customers to save their favourite drive settings, including suspension and steering preferences.

The new Mustang is so customisable that even its engine note can be adjusted. Delivering an audible experience like never before, an all-new active valve exhaust system is optional on Mustang GT, with a fully variable soundtrack to match the entire acceleration range.

For the first time, Mustang benefits from a vast array of Ford driver-assist technology.

Customers can feel more confident than ever behind the wheel with new features like Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, lane keeping assist and Driver Alert System.

Ford’s new F-150 debuts for 2018 even tougher, even smarter, and even more capable than ever – with the most advanced F-150 powertrain line-up ever that delivers best-in-class towing for the Middle East’s pickup drivers.

The new F-150 offers the F-150’s most advanced engine offerings ever – all to offer the right engine for every adventurous truck customer. The new F-150 also has best-in-class towing (up to six tonne) thanks to the 3.5-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 and enhanced 5.0-litre V8, respectively.

For 2018, the new truck arrives with bold new styling, advanced technologies, a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission and F-150’s most advanced engine line-up yet.

The new Ford F-150 further advances the light-duty pickup truck market with segment-first and class-exclusive technologies that improve productivity, efficiency and driver confidence, while keeping occupants connected to the world around them. Technologies include - adaptive cruise control, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and B&O PLAY audio system,

Existing segment-exclusive driver-assist and convenience features include - Pro Trailer Backup Assist which allows F-150 drivers of various skill levels to steer a trailer instinctively using a centre console-mounted dial to back-up a boat launch or park in a driveway, Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage technology optimised for F-150 to include up to 33 feet of trailer length; BLIS® uses radar sensors in the taillamps to monitor areas that may not be visible to the driver around the truck and trailer including 360-degree camera technology.

All three models - 2018 Ford Expedition, Mustang and F-150 clearly defines the Ford brand image. Ford wants to do more than just the family cars, a bit more exciting, a bit more premium and do more for you. It won’t be wrong to say that Ford is trying to change the way people interact with their vehicles and looking at every aspect of how the world gets around. Now with the launch of 3 exciting Ford models, has set the path for 2018 sales in Middle east market.
