Write a Review
BMW has revealed a sketch exhibiting a stylish silhouette of a coupe. We will see a standard coupe, as well as, convertible and possibly a fastback sedan, which if built would be known as an 8-Series Gran Coupe.
The Prototypes for the 8 series coupe are already being tested and the judgments conclude that the upcoming concept will be a similar representation of the production model that will be revealed in 2018. The prototype has a coupe and convertible body styles.
The words that BMW have said about the new 8-series is that it is a blend of sporty dynamics and luxury. The 8 series will replace the 6-series, which is already not available as a coupe, whereas the fastback sedan and convertible are still available but will be phased out soon.
The carbon-infused CLAR design platform that debuted in the 2016 7-series is the same for the BMW 8 series. The efficiency of the car will be emphasized by the light curb weight for a large, luxurious coupe and compatibility with electrified powertrains. The V- 8 and V-12 should stay the same.
A long bonnet and a flowing roofline that brings dynamic allure to the car’s flank, while the upward sweep of the concept’s trailing edge providing a sporty edge to the concept. Also, 21-inch light-alloy wheels that feature a sporty and exclusive multi-spoke design and aero elements, the front end is visually striking. The company’s design is still there however, it is in a different direction as the kidney grille is too low to the road and spread broadly across the front end.
The rear has a low, highly sculpted tail with maximum width-enhancing effect. The strong wheel arch highlight car’s dynamic talent and advertise the rear wheel drive. The rear lights extend far into the sides and provide a connection between the rear and flanks. The lights highlight width of car and muscular stance on the road, while their slender form gives the rear an ultra-sporty and modern flavour.
The grouping of functions into control clusters, e.g. in the center stack, the center console, and the doors, gives the interior a clear graphic structure. The interior is a mix and match between emotion and engineering, dynamism and luxury; its form suggests supreme sportiness, while exquisite materials exude exclusivity and high-grade design. The exclusive sports seats are slim in design, the carbon fibre shell providing the basic structure and the finest leather making them the perfect place to sit. Made from Swarovski glass with a smoky quartz appearance are the carved ground gearshift lever and the iDrive Controller that treat the interior to some classy finishing touches. The steering wheel follows the similar pattern with its hand polished aluminum spokes arrowing forward and the red-anodised shift paddles bring the race track to mind. Accent surfaces in carbon fiber and hand-polished aluminum purposefully create contrasts to radiate a sporty and technical feel.
The new BMW 8 Series coupe is all posh and classy with its high-end design and sporty technicalities. BMW is leaving no possibilities behind as it is also about to launch BMW M8 which will be launched in the later period. A fully camouflaged, early prototype will be unveiled in a driving presentation as a part of support programme for the Nurburgring 24-hour race. The M will be having features like modified brakes, larger air intakes, and a sports exhaust with four tailpipes that indicate the significantly boosted power and dynamic potential of the car and whet the appetite for a driving experience of intense emotional richness.
